Home/Services/Bathroom Renovations

Full bathroom renovations

Strip-out to showroom finish, handled end to end by one team. Old suite out, floor and walls made good, first fix plumbing and lighting run in, then tiling, panelling, brassware and the glow that makes the room. You get one number to ring and one outfit answering for the whole job.

What is included

Every bathroom renovation, covered.

Designed before anything comes out

The first visit is measuring and planning, not selling. Where the soil pipe runs, whether the bath can move, how much of the room a walk-in shower would eat, and where the light needs to sit. You see the layout and the lighting plan before a hammer touches a tile.

Strip-out and making good

Suite, tiles, floor and any rotten boarding out and away. Walls flattened, floors levelled and, where the room needs it, boarding replaced rather than tiled over. A flat, dry substrate is the difference between tiling that lasts twenty years and tiling that cracks in two.

First fix plumbing and electrics

Pipework rerun to suit the new layout instead of the old one, wastes set at the right falls, and the lighting circuits pulled in at first fix while the walls are open. Coves, mirror feeds and niche lighting all get wired before the boards go back on.

Tiling, panelling and waterproofing

Tanking where it matters, large format tiles or wall panels set out so the cuts land where nobody looks, and silicone lines that are straight. Panelled feature walls are set out from the centre of the room, not from whichever corner was convenient.

Brassware, sanitaryware and glass

Brushed brass, matt black, chrome, whatever suits the room, fitted square and sealed properly. Frameless glass measured after tiling rather than ordered from a plan, so the panel actually meets the wall.

Finished, cleaned and shown to you

Silicone, trims, seals, heated rail balanced and lights set to the right warmth. Room cleaned, rubbish taken away, and a walk round at the end where everything gets demonstrated instead of left for you to work out.

Questions

Asked and answered.

How long does a full bathroom renovation take?

A standard family bathroom in a Glasgow semi is usually eight to twelve working days from strip-out to finish. A bigger room, a wetroom with a tanked floor, or a layout change that moves the soil pipe pushes it towards three weeks. The honest answer comes after the first visit, because the thing that adds time is almost always what is behind the old tiles rather than the new suite going in.

Do you handle the plumbing and the electrics, or do I need other trades?

One team does the lot. Strip-out, plumbing, tiling, panelling, lighting and finishing are all handled in house, which is the main reason people call us rather than a fitter who then needs a sparky and a tiler booked around him. It also means the lighting is designed in at first fix instead of being an afterthought once the walls are shut.

Can you design the bathroom as well as fit it?

Yes, and it is included rather than an extra. We measure the room, look at where the services already run, and come back with a layout and a lighting plan. If you already have a design or a bathroom company drawing, we will fit to it, but we will tell you first if something on it will not physically work in your room.

Do I buy the suite and tiles, or do you?

Either way works. Most people pick the suite, tiles and brassware themselves and we supply everything else, which keeps the choosing enjoyable and the pricing transparent. If you would rather not trawl showrooms, we will put a list together in your budget and you approve it before anything is ordered.

Will I be without a bathroom the whole time?

For a single bathroom house the room is out of use for most of the job, so we plan around it. The toilet goes back in as early as the pipework allows, and on a long job we will tell you at the start which days are the awkward ones so you can arrange something. Nobody gets left guessing.

Do you clean up as you go?

Dust sheets down, doorways sealed where the dust would otherwise travel, and the house hoovered at the end of each day. Rubbish goes in a skip or the van rather than living in your garden for a fortnight.
